  1. Solar System

  5.      Over the last 25 years we've learned much more about the solar system
  6. than mankind had previously known. We are quickly learning the neighboring
  7. worlds are strange and marvelous.
  8.      Thanks to recent space probes and improved optics and electronics, we
  9. are now inundated by detailed colored pictures and computer-produced graphics
  10. of these strange worlds. There are moons that look like a potato, a
  11. cantaloupe and a pizza. There are three planets which rotate backwards, one
  12. which rotates on its side, one with rings galore, and three others with
  13. lesser ring systems.
  14.      There are thousands of asteroids and millions of comets. And perhaps
  15. there is the dark star, Nemesis. All of these bodies are directly or
  16. indirectly linked to the dominant body of our solar system, the sun.
  17.      This program is designed to put the solar system into a little better
  18. perspective. I hope it makes learning a little easier and more enjoyable in
  19. the process. Now that you're ready to see what this program's all about,
  20. let's cover some simple user information and instructions.
  21.      To start, double-click on the solar icon. After the program loads you
  22. will be asked to select from the main flashcard menu. The nine choices are a
  23. facts tutor, planet-perspective graphic on diameters and distances, sizes,
  24. orbits, masses and densities, a 10-question quiz, a 25-question quiz, and the
  25. option to quit.
  26.      Indicate your choice by clicking the left mouse button on the
  27. appropriate section. If you choose the facts tutor, click on the solar body
  28. you wish to learn about. When you wish to return to the original selection
  29. choices, click on CLICK HERE TO EXIT TUTOR.
  30.      When you select the 10-or 25-question test, simple instructions are
  31. provided on the screen. To exit all of the other choices, click the left
  32. mouse push button as indicated on the screen.
  33.      Some of the questions are tough, so you may wish to review the tutors
  34. and graphics before you take a test. Good luck and good learning!
